Shermeek Yorke also handles additional responsibilities, including hiring and training staff, budgeting and inventory, marketing the Curlfriends brand, and ensuring high-quality service for all customers. Under her leadership, Curlfriends Salon has become the primary destination for people in and around the Inland Empire with curly, coily, or wavy hair. The staff excels at cutting and coloring curly hair and offers other services tailored to people with textured hair.
At Riverside Community College, Shermeek Yorke earned the Student of Distinction Award in cosmetology. She has used her cosmetology and accounting background to build a successful community business. When she is not guiding activities at Curlfriends Salon, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. Her other interests include gardening and traveling.
